Boston boys Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood, of New Kids on the Block, got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday. Wahlberg, who’s been filming “Blue Bloods” in New York City, was there to lead the pack with Maurice Starr, the legendary producer who discovered the local boy band after having a hit with Boston-bred act New Edition. “This journey never begins w/out the legend Maurice Starr! The first person on earth not named Alma, to believe in me,” Wahlberg tweeted. (For those who don’t know, Alma is Donnie’s mom.) Also at the ceremony was the group’s friend Arsenio Hall and Wahlberg’s new wife, Jenny McCarthy. Wahlberg broke down in tears while speaking to the crowd and told fans, “You are our family. If we are the star that’s gonna be on this famed boulevard . . . then you guys are the soil and the concrete that it sits in.” . . . Knight had just been in Boston on Wednesday for his Nick & Knight performance with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Hosting an unofficial after-party for that gig was local singer Louie Bello, who performed with Anna Palmerola at Abby Lane.
Wahlberg tweeted at the event:
If we represent the star that’ll forever sit on Hollywood Bl. Then our fans represent the very foundation that star sits in. #BHLove4Life
