American boyband New Kids on the Block are to play a date at Manchester Apollo.

The Boston fivepiece –  Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood – head to Manchester on May 30.

The Hang Tough singers enjoyed huge success in the late 80s/early 90s before going their separate ways to complete solo projects for a number of years.

They reformed a few years ago and enjoyed joint headline tour (NKOTBSB Tour) with fellow boyband the Backstreet Boys in 2011/12.

The gig is a chance for fans to get up close and personal with their idols, with the tour called An Intimate Evening With New Kids on the Block.

The band said: “We’ve played arenas, and stadiums, all over the world in the last 6 years.

“Yet, some of our best concerts have been in the most intimate of venues, where we are closer to our amazing fans.

“This tour gives us a chance to have that intimacy with our fans again.  To get up close and intimate with the best fans in the world”.

Take a trip down memory lane and have a look at a classic NKOTB video below…
